  • With funding secured through 2026, the country is signaling long-term policy certainty for electric mobility investments.
On January 6, the Serbia electric vehicle subsidy program led by the Ministry of Environmental Protection was confirmed with a major financial commitment to accelerate the country’s transition to clean mobility. The ministry announced that more than RSD 450 million has been earmarked to support buyers shifting from conventional vehicles to fully electric models.
Over the past year, funding from the Serbia electric vehicle subsidy scheme enabled the purchase of close to 1,000 battery-electric vehicles across the country. Serbia Electric Vehicle Subsidy Supports Nearly 1,000 New EVs
The Ministry of Environmental Protection stated that the funding structure was designed to make electric vehicles financially accessible. By covering a significant portion of the upfront cost, the Serbia electric vehicle subsidy helped remove one of the main barriers to EV adoption in the domestic market.
Key highlights of the program include:
  • More than RSD 450 million allocated for EV co-financing
  • Around 1,000 fully electric vehicles supported
  • 207 individual applicants approved
  • 773 companies and legal entities participating

Serbia Electric Vehicle Subsidy to Continue in 2026
The ministry also confirmed that the Serbia electric vehicle subsidy will remain in place through 2026, ensuring long-term continuity for buyers and fleet operators. For 2025, incentives will be focused primarily on electric passenger cars, helping accelerate electrification of the national vehicle fleet.
Under the current framework, subsidies of up to EUR 5,000 per vehicle will be available, with the exact amount depending on the type and category of electric vehicle purchased. This level of support is expected to further stimulate demand for electric mobility solutions across Serbia.
By sustaining financial incentives and maintaining a clear policy direction, Serbia is positioning itself as one of the more proactive markets in the region for the adoption of electric vehicles and cleaner transportation technologies.
