New Plant to Support Large-Diameter Wheel Production

The new facility of PT. Pakoakuina, an automobile and motorcycle wheel manufacturer based in Indonesia, will manufacture Topy Industries products measuring 20 inches or more in diameter. Pakoakuina plans to allocate approximately 20 to 30 percent of the plant’s production capacity to Topy Industries’ wheel manufacturing. The arrangement will allow Topy Industries to distribute orders between its domestic operations and the Indonesian facility, creating greater flexibility in production planning while supporting its strategy for expanding sales of higher-value-added aluminum wheels.

Production Flexibility and Backup Capacity

As part of the consignment production arrangement, Topy Industries acquired a 10% stake in PT. Pakoakuina in May. The investment is intended to support closer cooperation while enabling Topy Industries to increase production flexibility by allocating orders to the Indonesian plant. The company also intends to use the facility as a backup production site if manufacturing in Japan is interrupted for any reason.
