Quick Takeaways
  • Two electrified powertrain strategies—pure EV and hybridized options—are being used by Peugeot to cover the full C-segment customer spectrum.
  • France-based manufacturing and localized supply chains reinforce Stellantis’ industrial footprint behind the E-408 rollout.
On January 9, Stellantis Peugeot 408 Electric E-408 was officially unveiled as the new-generation C-segment fastback produced at Peugeot’s Mulhouse plant in France. The fully electric variant is built entirely in the country, with the motor coming from Trémery and the transmission supplied from Valenciennes, reinforcing Stellantis’ French manufacturing footprint.
The Stellantis Peugeot 408 Electric E-408 delivers 213 hp and 343 Nm of torque, supported by an aerodynamic design that limits energy consumption to 14.7 kWh per 100 km. A 58.2 kWh battery enables a driving range of up to 456 km, while fast-charging capability allows the battery to be replenished from 20 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
Stellantis Peugeot 408 Electric E-408 powertrain options
Alongside the electric version, Peugeot continues to offer electrified powertrains that broaden the appeal of the model across different driving needs. These options are designed to improve efficiency while maintaining strong performance for both urban and highway use.

  • Full battery recharge in just over two hours using a wall box

Hybrid version
  • Gasoline engine paired with an electrified automatic transmission
  • Battery recharges automatically while driving
  • Supports electric-only operation for up to 50 percent of city driving
  • Improves fuel efficiency and lowers emissions

Design highlights of the Stellantis Peugeot 408 Electric E-408
The new Peugeot 408 adopts a sharper and more modern design language. At the front, slim LED light strips create Peugeot’s signature three-claw visual identity and also function as turn indicators. At the rear, the model becomes the first Peugeot to feature illuminated PEUGEOT lettering, adding a distinctive nighttime appearance.
Full LED headlights are standard across most variants, while higher trims offer advanced Matrix LED technology that adapts the light beam for better night-time visibility and safety. These lighting upgrades contribute both to style and to improved driving confidence.
Interior and digital cockpit upgrades
Inside the cabin, the Peugeot 408 introduces a new 10-inch digital instrument cluster, with premium versions adding a 3D display for enhanced depth and clarity. A 10-inch central touchscreen is angled toward the driver to improve usability and reduce distraction while driving.
New upholstery materials and a redesigned dashboard layout improve the sense of quality and comfort. The interior update aligns with Peugeot’s focus on combining digital functionality with a refined, driver-centric cockpit experience.
With electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid powertrains now offered, the Stellantis Peugeot 408 Electric E-408 and its related variants strengthen the brand’s position in the electrified C-segment while maintaining the design and driving character Peugeot is known for.
