On August 11, Nexteer Automotive introduced its new High Mount Direct Drive Steer-by-Wire Actuator, known as HMDD, as vehicle architectures increasingly transition toward software-defined platforms. The compact actuator combines a high-mount motor, direct-drive responsiveness and a stationary hub to provide premium steering feel while supporting scalable vehicle integration.
