The Yijing X9 has officially entered mass production as the flagship full-size six-seater SUV from the Yijing brand, a new automotive brand jointly created by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and Dongfeng Motor Corporation through full-stack native collaboration. According to the brand announcement, the first production unit rolled off the line on July 20 at the Chengdu plant. The Yijing X9 is equipped with Huawei’s latest Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system and an 896-line dual-optical-path image-grade LiDAR system as standard across the lineup. The SUV is also among the first vehicles to feature the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit and Huawei’s dual 17.2-inch Butterfly Wing displays. Additional technologies include the HUAWEI XSCENE in-vehicle laser projection system, Xiaoyi AI agent, and AMS in-cabin AI multimodal perception system, creating a technology-focused cabin designed around premium family mobility experiences.

The intelligent manufacturing capabilities of the Yijing Chengdu plant combine Dongfeng’s advanced production processes with Huawei’s quality management approach. The facility has undergone upgrades focused on automation, digitalization, and flexible manufacturing systems. The body shop uses 452 robots to achieve 100% automated flexible production, while the final assembly shop has reached a 95% parts sequencing rate. AI vision inspection systems have also been introduced at important production stations, enabling complete error-proofing detection during the manufacturing process.

Yijing operates as an independent business unit under Dongfeng Motor’s new premium-brand strategy. With the establishment of Yijing’s Chengdu operations, key supply chain partners including Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd have expanded their regional presence. The initiative has supported 35 surrounding suppliers in completing intelligent and digital manufacturing upgrades while enabling major component suppliers to develop nearby supporting operations for improved ecosystem integration.
