Quick Takeaways
  • Leapmotor rapidly crossed the 1,000-store mark in China, building a dense sales and service network to support its 2026 one-million-unit sales ambition.
  • Strong operating performance, in-house technology, and strategic partnerships are reinforcing the company’s scale-up strategy at home and abroad.
Leapmotor 1,000-store network expansion reached a major milestone as the company rapidly scaled its retail and service footprint across China. With 85 new outlets added in early January, Leapmotor’s nationwide presence now stands at 1,068 stores, forming a dense, coordinated sales and service ecosystem designed to support its ambition of reaching one million annual vehicle sales in 2026.
This accelerated rollout builds on the company’s strong 2025 performance and marks a critical step in its long-term strategy to transition from a fast follower to a category leader in China’s new energy vehicle market.
Leapmotor 1,000-store network expansion strengthens market coverage
The latest batch of new stores reflects a demand-driven expansion strategy aligned with city-level market potential and user proximity. Rather than pursuing scale alone, Leapmotor focused on reinforcing end-to-end capabilities across sales, vehicle delivery, and after-sales service, ensuring operational balance as volumes rise.
From November 2025, Leapmotor rolled out three complementary retail formats to create a structured channel matrix:
  • Leapmotor Centers located in core automotive retail zones, integrating sales, delivery, and after-sales support
  • Experience Centers positioned in high-footfall locations such as shopping malls and urban showrooms, emphasizing brand visibility and hands-on product engagement
  • Service Centers established in major vehicle repair hubs, concentrating on mechanical, body, and paint services to close service coverage gaps

Channel structure supports efficient customer conversion
Following this expansion, Leapmotor operates:
  • 407 Leapmotor Centers
  • 543 Experience Centers
  • 118 Service Centers
Sales outlets now span 295 cities, while service coverage extends to 200 cities nationwide. Each store format plays a defined role within the operating loop:
  • Experience Centers generate brand awareness and customer traffic
  • Leapmotor Centers handle conversion, delivery, and ownership services
  • Service Centers ensure lifecycle support and customer retention
Together, this structure enhances operating efficiency while supporting sustainable sales growth.
Operational scale matched with system efficiency
In an internal message marking the company’s tenth anniversary, founder and chairman Zhu Jiangming emphasized that expansion must be supported by stronger internal systems. He highlighted retail efficiency and marketing effectiveness as priorities, noting that a 1,000-store footprint allows Leapmotor to absorb demand from a broader product portfolio while capturing real-time user feedback to guide product iteration.
This feedback loop strengthens coordination across research and development, manufacturing, sales, and service, creating a self-reinforcing growth cycle.
Leapmotor 1,000-store network expansion backed by strong performance
The channel push is underpinned by solid operating results. In 2025, Leapmotor delivered 597,000 vehicles, more than doubling year-on-year volumes. Financially, the company achieved profitability for three consecutive quarters, posting cumulative net profit of RMB 180 million and positioning itself as the second profitable new energy vehicle startup in China.
This performance validates Leapmotor’s vertically integrated business model and provides financial stability for further expansion.
In-house technology drives cost and product competitiveness
A core pillar of Leapmotor’s strategy is full-stack in-house development. More than 70 percent of functional core components are self-developed, spanning vehicle architecture, electronic and electrical systems, tri-electric platforms, and autonomous driving chips. Internally developed components account for approximately 65 percent of total vehicle cost.
This advantage has enabled the mass production of advanced technologies, including an 800V high-voltage platform, a central domain controller architecture, and an integrated chassis braking system. High-end features such as lidar and high-compute chips have been introduced into mainstream models, reinforcing the brand’s value-for-money positioning.
Products and partnerships support future scale
Updated and newly launched models in 2025 maintained stable momentum, with several nameplates posting strong monthly volumes. Strategic collaboration has further strengthened Leapmotor’s growth foundation. A late-2025 partnership with FAW Group, backed by a RMB 3.744 billion investment, extends cooperation across development, production, and supply chain operations.
This partnership combines Leapmotor’s new energy vehicle technology strengths with FAW’s manufacturing scale and industrial expertise, enhancing capacity security as volumes increase.
Global expansion complements domestic growth
Leapmotor also advanced its international strategy during 2025, entering 35 new overseas markets and establishing more than 800 international outlets. Overseas deliveries are expected to exceed 60,000 units, with monthly orders reaching five figures at peak, creating an additional growth curve aligned with domestic channel expansion.
As competition in China’s new energy vehicle market intensifies in 2026, Leapmotor’s tightly integrated approach to technology, products, partnerships, and retail infrastructure positions it to steadily advance toward its one-million-unit target and long-term global ambitions.
