  • Q-7790, targeting performance-driven consumer and industrial applications

The Dragonwing Q-8750 delivers up to 77 TOPS of AI performance, enabling on-device large language models with support for up to 11 billion parameters. It supports as many as 12 physical cameras and integrates three 48-megapixel image signal processors, making it suitable for drones, media hubs, and multi-angle vision systems.
The Q-7790 provides 24 TOPS of on-device AI capability, supporting dual 4K60 displays and 4K120 video decoding. Its architecture is optimized for applications that require advanced graphics, vision processing, and reduced reliance on cloud computing.
Edge AI Strategy Focused on Local Processing
Both processors emphasize on-device intelligence, allowing real-time data processing while minimizing latency, bandwidth usage, and dependency on cloud infrastructure. This approach aligns with growing demand for secure, low-latency AI across industrial automation, smart surveillance, and embedded consumer devices.
Strategic Acquisitions Strengthen Vision and AI Capabilities
Alongside hardware updates, Qualcomm has completed the acquisition of Augentix Inc., a Taiwan-based semiconductor company specializing in smart imaging and vision processing chips for IP security cameras and smart home products. This move expands Qualcomm’s camera processor portfolio and strengthens its position in the edge video ecosystem.
Over the past 18 months, Qualcomm has integrated five strategic acquisitions—Augentix, Arduino, Edge Impulse, Focus.AI, and Foundries.io—to create a more unified hardware-software development environment.
Unified Software Platform for Developers
Through the integration of Arduino, Edge Impulse, and Foundries.io, Qualcomm has streamlined its development tools to support a wider developer base. The unified software architecture now supports Linux, Windows, and Android, simplifying application deployment across industrial and embedded platforms.
New AI-Powered Video Intelligence and Positioning Services
Qualcomm also introduced the Qualcomm Insight Platform, an AI-driven video intelligence solution designed for security and operations teams. The platform processes video streams at the edge using conversational AI capabilities, enabling real-time insights across multiple deployment scenarios.
Another addition is the Qualcomm Terrestrial Positioning Service, which delivers location services using Wi-Fi access points, cellular networks, and Bluetooth beacons, eliminating the need for satellite-based positioning systems.
