Leapmotor has introduced its flagship D19 SUV, marking a significant move into the premium electric vehicle segment. The model enters the market with pricing ranging from 219,800 yuan to 269,800 yuan and is being delivered immediately to early customers. As part of the company’s broader strategy, the D19 is expected to play a central role in achieving aggressive growth targets and strengthening its presence in China’s competitive EV landscape.

The D19 SUV is positioned as a full-size offering with dimensions of 5,252 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, supported by a 3,110 mm wheelbase. Built on the LEAP 4.0 architecture, the vehicle is designed to cater to both family and business users. It offers flexible seating configurations, including six- and seven-seat layouts, making it suitable for a wide range of mobility requirements in the premium SUV segment.

Flexible Powertrain Strategy with BEV and EREV Options

The D19 introduces both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants to address different user preferences and range concerns. All EREV versions feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and incorporate cell-to-chassis battery integration technology to enhance structural efficiency and maximize cabin space. These models utilize an 800-volt platform, enabling charging from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. The BEV version features a 1,000-volt architecture capable of adding more than 350 km of range within the same charging duration.
