- MINI India launches limited Victory Edition inspired by 1965 Monte Carlo Rally
- 204 hp engine with premium tech and heritage-focused design elements
In a heritage-inspired product unveiling, MINI India has introduced the MINI India Cooper S Victory Edition in the country, marking its debut at a newly inaugurated dealership in Jaipur. The special edition model is priced at ₹57,50,000 (ex-showroom) and is being offered as a completely built-up unit. Bookings have commenced across authorized dealerships nationwide, with customer deliveries already underway.
Heritage Design Inspired by Monte Carlo Legacy
The Victory Edition takes its name from the iconic 1965 Monte Carlo Rally, where a Mini Cooper S secured victory under Finnish driver Timo Mäkinen and co-driver Paul Easter. This legacy is reflected through distinct styling elements, including the signature “52” race number graphic on the body and a “1965” badge placed on the C-pillar, reinforcing its motorsport lineage.
The exterior is finished in Chilli Red, complemented by a contrasting white stripe extending from the bonnet to the rear. A black panoramic roof enhances the premium appearance, while 18-inch JCW Lap Spoke two-tone alloy wheels complete the sporty stance. These design cues collectively emphasize both performance heritage and modern aesthetics.
Powertrain and Performance Specifications
The vehicle is equipped with a MINI TwinPower Turbo petrol engine delivering 150 kW (204 hp) between 5,000 and 6,500 rpm. Peak torque of 300 Nm is available across a broad range from 1,450 to 4,500 rpm, ensuring responsive acceleration and consistent performance under varied driving conditions.
The hatchback accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 242 km/h. Power is transmitted through a 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic Sport transmission, offering precise gear shifts and improved driving dynamics. This setup aligns with the brand’s focus on combining efficiency with sporty performance.
Interior Craftsmanship and Sustainable Materials
The interior design integrates both heritage elements and sustainable materials. JCW Sport Seats are upholstered in Vescin Black, a perforated material derived from recycled sources. The cabin avoids traditional chrome and leather finishes, instead utilizing 2D knitted fabric across the dashboard and door panels for a modern and eco-conscious touch.
Several interior components, including the steering wheel, center console storage, and key cap, feature “1965” markings. Door sills and internal panels further highlight the historical narrative with embedded references to the rally-winning car, enhancing the exclusivity of the edition.
Technology and Digital Interface
The centerpiece of the cabin is a 240mm circular OLED touchscreen powered by MINI Operating System 9. The system supports both touch and voice inputs, activated through the “Hey MINI” command. It integrates features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and remote software upgrades, ensuring continuous feature enhancements.
Additional technology offerings include a head-up display, MINI Digital Key Plus functionality via a dedicated app, a fisheye camera with QR code sharing capability, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. These features collectively enhance both convenience and infotainment experience for occupants.
Safety Features and Ownership Benefits
The model is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite that includes front and side curtain airbags, ABS, Dynamic Stability Control, Brake Assist, and Cornering Brake Control. Additional features such as a rear-view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, and parking assistant contribute to driver assistance and safety assurance.
Ownership benefits include a two-year unlimited-kilometre warranty along with 24x7 roadside assistance, both transferable to subsequent owners. Customers can opt for service packages starting from 3 years or 40,000 km, extendable up to 10 years or 1,00,000 km. Warranty extension options are also available from the third year onward, offering long-term reliability coverage.
Financing and Customer Accessibility
Financing solutions are being offered through BMW India Financial Services, including flexible EMI options and an assured buyback program valid for up to five years. The company states that EMI plans can be up to 40% lower than conventional bank loan structures, improving accessibility for buyers seeking premium compact vehicles.
With its blend of historical inspiration, performance engineering, and modern digital features, the special edition model strengthens the brand’s positioning in India’s premium hatchback segment while appealing to enthusiasts seeking exclusivity and legacy-driven design.
