- New GT-Line and X-Line trims expand design and feature options
- Six-seater configuration enhances cabin comfort and flexibility
Kia India has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the updated MY26 version of its Carens Clavis EV, focusing on improved customization, seating flexibility, and design enhancements. The refreshed lineup introduces new trim options and a six-seater layout to better align with evolving consumer preferences in the electric MPV segment. With both Standard and Extended battery configurations, the model now offers a broader appeal across use cases, from urban commuting to long-distance travel.
Expanded Variant Lineup and Battery Options
The MY26 iteration now offers a wider trim structure across two battery configurations. The Standard Range variant uses a 42 kWh battery delivering a certified driving range of 404 km, while the Extended Range version with a 51.4 kWh battery offers up to 490 km based on MIDC Full cycle testing. This dual-option strategy allows customers to choose between affordability and extended usability depending on their driving patterns and charging accessibility.
Introduction of GT-Line and X-Line Trims
The Extended Range variant receives two distinct new trims aimed at visual and experiential differentiation. The GT-Line, available in GTX and GTX+ grades, adopts a sporty design language with updated alloy wheels, lime-accented brake calipers, and metallic pedal finishes. In contrast, the X-Line focuses on a more rugged and premium appearance, featuring exclusive exterior finishes such as Dark Gun Metal and Aurora Black Pearl.
Design and Technology Enhancements
Both GTX+ and X-Line trims integrate advanced features including Digital Key functionality and battery heating technology to improve usability in varying conditions. Standard Range trims also receive updates, including R16 Black High Gloss Aero alloy wheels, enhancing the visual identity across entry-level variants while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency.
Six-Seater Cabin Configuration
A major update in the MY26 version is the introduction of a six-seater layout with second-row captain seats. This configuration is available across multiple trims, including HTX (E), HTX, HTX+, GTX, GTX+, and X-Line, in both battery variants. The addition responds to customer demand for increased comfort and personal space, especially for long journeys and premium usage scenarios.
Seating Flexibility Across Variants
While the six-seater layout enhances comfort, the existing seven-seater configuration remains available in higher trims such as GTX, GTX+, and X-Line. This ensures that the model continues to cater to both family-oriented buyers and those seeking a more premium seating experience, offering flexibility without compromising practicality.
Performance, Charging, and Key Features
The electric MPV is powered by motors delivering 99 kW and 126 kW outputs, producing a torque of 255 Nm. Fast-charging capability enables the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 39 minutes, supporting efficient long-distance usage. The feature set includes a large 26.62-inch dual panoramic display, more than 85 connected car functionalities, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof available in select trims.
Safety Systems and Charging Ecosystem
The vehicle incorporates a comprehensive safety package with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist, forming part of a broader suite of 18 advanced safety features. Additionally, Kia India supports the ownership experience through its K-Charge ecosystem, accessible via the MyKia app, which connects users to over 15,000 charging points. The infrastructure is further supported by more than 100 dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers and 267 EV-ready workshops across India.
Pricing and Market Positioning
The MY26 model is priced starting at ₹17.99 lakh for the Standard Range HTK+ seven-seater variant, extending up to ₹24.99 lakh for the top-spec Extended Range GTX+ and X-Line trims available in both six- and seven-seat configurations. With seven exterior colour options, including the exclusive Dark Gun Metal finish, the model aims to strengthen its positioning in the growing electric MPV segment by combining practicality, technology, and differentiated styling.
