Quick Takeaways
  • Stellantis introduces DS N°7 with up to 740 km electric range and multiple power outputs
  • Hybrid and electric variants offer flexibility with fast charging and advanced efficiency features

Stellantis has introduced the DS N°7 as the successor to its earlier DS 7 model, marking a significant step in its premium electrification strategy. The new SUV is available in both fully electric and hybrid variants, offering a combination of extended driving range, improved aerodynamics, and versatile performance options. The launch reflects a broader shift toward modular vehicle platforms and energy-efficient propulsion systems, with the model positioned to meet growing demand for long-range electric mobility in the premium segment.

Design, Dimensions, and Aerodynamic Efficiency

The DS N°7 adopts design cues inspired by the Aero Sport Lounge concept, resulting in a refined exterior focused on aerodynamic optimization. The SUV measures 4.66 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width, and 1.63 meters in height, supported by a 2.79-meter wheelbase. Its streamlined roofline and integrated rear spoiler contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.26 and an SCx value of 0.69, enhancing both efficiency and driving stability. These improvements play a key role in maximizing electric range while maintaining premium styling characteristics.

Electric Powertrain Options and Performance

The DS N°7 electric lineup includes three distinct power configurations designed to cater to different performance requirements. The entry-level front-wheel-drive version produces 230 hp, while the long-range variant increases output to 245 hp. The all-wheel-drive long-range model delivers up to 350 hp, with temporary boost functionality raising output to 375 hp. This AWD configuration accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, highlighting the vehicle’s capability to combine efficiency with dynamic performance.

Battery Capacity and Driving Range

The electric variants provide a wide spectrum of driving ranges supported by different battery capacities. The long-range front-wheel-drive version uses a 97.2 kWh battery to achieve up to 740 km of range, while the AWD long-range model offers up to 679 km. A standard front-wheel-drive configuration equipped with a 73.7 kWh battery delivers up to 543 km. Battery production is handled at a gigafactory in Billy Berclau, while electric motors are sourced from eastern France, ensuring localized manufacturing integration.

Charging Capability and Efficiency Features

The DS N°7 integrates fast-charging technology to enhance usability for long-distance travel. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 27 minutes, with the smaller battery variant requiring around 31 minutes. Additionally, the system enables the vehicle to gain nearly 190 km of range within 10 minutes of charging. Features such as Plug & Charge simplify the charging process, while the One Pedal driving function improves energy recovery by automatically decelerating the vehicle when the accelerator is released.

Hybrid Variant and Platform Architecture

Alongside its electric lineup, the SUV is also available in a hybrid configuration featuring a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with an integrated electric motor within the automatic transmission. This system delivers a combined output of 145 hp and allows electric-only operation for up to half of urban driving conditions. The model is built on the STLA Medium platform and assembled at the Melfi facility in Italy, reflecting Stellantis’ strategy of scalable architectures for both electric and hybrid propulsion systems.

Market Launch and Pricing Strategy

Orders for the DS N°7 opened in France on March 17, initially focusing on the E-TENSE 230 hp version. The starting price is set at EUR 64,200, positioning the vehicle competitively within the premium electric SUV segment. By offering multiple powertrain choices, advanced efficiency features, and extended range capabilities, Stellantis aims to strengthen its presence in the evolving electrified vehicle market while addressing diverse customer requirements.
