Nissan has strengthened its logistics and operational capabilities with the inauguration of the Nissan Mexicana Internal Fleet Terminal Aguascalientes. This newly developed facility reflects a strategic push toward improving internal transportation efficiency while enhancing workforce conditions. Positioned between the company’s A1 and A2 plants, the terminal is expected to play a critical role in streamlining vehicle and parts movement across the country, supporting both domestic distribution and export operations.

Strategic Investment in Logistics Infrastructure

The newly inaugurated complex spans approximately 80,000 square meters and has been purpose-built to support internal fleet operations. It can accommodate more than 260 tractor-trailers, enabling better fleet management and operational control. Developed within a one-year timeline, this initiative marks a significant step in modernizing logistics capabilities and reflects Nissan’s intent to strengthen supply chain integration across its Mexican operations.

Enhanced Operational Efficiency Across Network

With this facility in place, the automaker becomes the first in the region to operate a fully integrated internal transportation fleet. This system is designed to serve a network of over 230 dealerships nationwide, improving delivery timelines and reducing reliance on third-party logistics providers. By centralizing fleet operations, the company aims to achieve higher consistency in vehicle distribution and parts handling.

High-Volume Supply Chain Capabilities

The logistics division in Mexico already manages a significant operational scale, handling more than three million components daily to support manufacturing activities. In addition, it coordinates the movement of over 4,000 finished vehicles for both domestic sales and international exports. The Aguascalientes Parts Redistribution Center also contributes to global operations by processing approximately 80,000 parts each month for shipment to international markets.

Workforce-Centric Facility Design

The terminal has been designed not only for operational efficiency but also to enhance employee well-being. It supports over 400 workers with facilities such as a gym, dormitories, showers, recreational areas, nursing rooms, and medical offices. These additions are intended to improve working conditions, boost productivity, and support long-term workforce sustainability within the logistics ecosystem.

This development highlights Nissan’s broader strategy of combining infrastructure investment with operational innovation, ensuring its logistics network remains robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving industry demands.
