The initiative focuses on AUMOVIO’s German locations in Ulm, Lindau, and Markdorf, where approximately 600 employees are impacted by ongoing transformation measures. By coordinating hiring opportunities with nearby facilities, the partnership aims to enable smoother transitions for skilled professionals while strengthening regional technology and engineering capabilities.
Workforce Transition Across Key German Locations
The agreement applies to AUMOVIO sites in Ulm, Markdorf, and Lindau, all situated close to operational centers of HENSOLDT. At these locations, AUMOVIO is implementing its “Job-to-Job” principle, which focuses on directly connecting employees with new roles as business structures evolve. This approach aims to reduce employment disruption while allowing skilled professionals to continue working within related high-technology industries. The initiative particularly benefits engineering and technical staff whose expertise aligns with expanding defence-sector requirements.
Rising Defence Demand Driving Recruitment
Strong demand in the defence industry has encouraged HENSOLDT to expand both production and delivery capacity. The company recruited around 1,200 employees in 2025 and plans to add approximately 1,600 additional workers in 2026. Recruitment efforts span multiple technical disciplines, including systems engineering, software development, and electrical engineering. Many teams affected by restructuring at AUMOVIO possess experience in these same areas, making them well suited for integration into defence technology programs supporting advanced sensing and mission systems.
