The CAERI ASEAN NCAP intelligent vehicle safety assessment framework was officially introduced on March 12 to strengthen evaluation standards for vehicles equipped with advanced intelligent technologies in Southeast Asia. Developed through collaboration between China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CAERI) and ASEAN NCAP, the initiative focuses on building testing scenarios tailored to regional road environments and consumer expectations. The framework aims to improve safety verification for next-generation mobility technologies and support the transition toward smarter vehicles within the ASEAN automotive ecosystem.

Framework Designed for Regional Intelligent Vehicle Testing

The new safety assessment structure introduces scenario-based testing methods that reflect the traffic conditions and driving patterns common across ASEAN countries.
