Total BEV output reached 5,334 units in February, improving from 4,218 units recorded in January. Hybrid Vehicles Continue to Lead Output
Despite the growth in battery electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles remained the dominant electrified technology in Indonesia’s manufacturing mix. HEV production reached 8,131 units during February, slightly higher than the 8,058 units produced in January. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle production was comparatively smaller, totaling 185 units for the month, down from 224 units recorded earlier in the year. These figures highlight that hybrid systems continue to serve as the primary electrification pathway for many automakers operating in the Indonesian automotive industry.
