The BYD Tai 3 flash charging edition has officially entered the market as part of the company’s expanding electrified vehicle lineup, delivering ultra-fast charging capability and competitive driving range. Introduced under the personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao, the model represents one of the first vehicles from the automaker to incorporate its latest flash-charging technology. Alongside the launch, the company has also opened pre-orders for the larger Tai 7 EV flash-charging edition. Both vehicles were initially revealed during the company’s technology event held on March 5 and highlight the manufacturer’s focus on improving charging convenience and addressing range concerns among electric vehicle buyers.

Tai 3 Flash-Charging Model Specifications

The Tai 3 flash-charging edition is offered in two configurations designed to suit different driving preferences. Customers can choose between a rear-wheel-drive version delivering a driving range of 620 kilometers and a four-wheel-drive version capable of traveling up to 565 kilometers. Official pricing for the model ranges between 153,800 yuan and 169,800 yuan. The vehicle integrates the automaker’s second-generation blade battery system together with its new rapid charging solution, which together are intended to significantly improve charging efficiency and everyday usability for electric vehicle owners.

Ultra-Fast Charging Performance

The charging performance is a key highlight of the vehicle. Under standard temperature conditions, the battery can charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in roughly five minutes. Extending the charge level to 97 percent requires approximately nine minutes in total. Even in extremely cold environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the charging process is extended by only about three additional minutes. These improvements aim to reduce charging downtime and help eliminate range anxiety for electric vehicle drivers adopting high-performance battery technologies.

Tai 7 EV Pre-Sales and Product Positioning

Alongside the new model introduction, the company has opened pre-sales for the Tai 7 EV flash-charging edition. Positioned as a mid-size pure electric SUV, the vehicle targets family users seeking larger cabin space and extended driving range. According to official specifications, the two-wheel-drive variant can achieve a maximum pure electric range of 755 kilometers, making it the longest-range electric model currently available in the brand’s portfolio. The Tai product series serves as the second major lineup for Fang Cheng Bao, following the Bao series, which focuses on hardcore off-road vehicles.

Electric Platform and Charging Infrastructure Expansion

The BYD Tai 3 flash charging edition is built on the brand’s proprietary smart EVO+ electric platform, which supports improved power management and advanced driving capabilities. The four-wheel-drive variant further incorporates an intelligent all-terrain recognition and torque control system designed to maintain traction on challenging surfaces such as snow or mud. To support vehicles equipped with flash-charging technology, BYD is expanding its infrastructure network across China, aiming to deploy more than 20,000 flash-charging stations by the end of 2026.

Charging Infrastructure Metric Value
Flash-Charging Stations (March 12) 4,597
Target Flash-Charging Stations by 2026 20,000+

The rapid expansion of charging infrastructure is intended to support the growing number of high-performance electric vehicles entering the market. Early buyers of the Tai 3 model will also receive complimentary flash-charging services for the first 18 months, further strengthening the value proposition for customers adopting the new technology-driven SUV lineup.
