WeRide Robotaxi Service Integrates with WeChat Through Tencent Mobility Platform

The WeRide Robotaxi service has officially entered one of China’s largest digital mobility ecosystems through a deeper partnership with Tencent Cloud. The autonomous ride-hailing platform is now integrated directly into the Tencent Mobility Services mini program inside WeChat, enabling users to request and pay for autonomous rides without switching between multiple applications. The move allows WeRide to position its driverless transportation offering within an everyday digital environment used by hundreds of millions of consumers.

Robotaxi Access Embedded Into WeChat Mobility Ecosystem

The integration connects the WeRide Robotaxi service with Tencent’s high-traffic mobility platform, dramatically simplifying how passengers access autonomous rides. Users can now book a Robotaxi directly within the WeChat ecosystem by opening the Tencent Mobility Services interface, entering their pickup and drop-off locations, and selecting the autonomous driving option when a nearby Robotaxi stop is available. This frictionless booking experience eliminates the need for a separate ride-hailing application and allows autonomous mobility to become part of routine daily transportation choices.

Guangzhou Launch Marks First Deployment Phase

The first rollout of the integrated service has been introduced in Guangzhou, where early adopters can already request autonomous rides through the platform. Passengers booking through the interface may receive promotional ride discounts designed to encourage first-time use and familiarize travelers with the company’s fully driverless vehicles. The service currently deploys the five-seat GXR Robotaxi model, which has been developed with passenger comfort and operational efficiency in mind. Following the Guangzhou launch, the companies plan to gradually expand service coverage into additional cities.

Additional Access Through Tencent Maps Planned

Beyond the WeChat mobility mini program, the partners intend to broaden access channels by integrating the autonomous ride service into Tencent Maps. This additional platform will allow users to discover and request driverless transportation through navigation-based trip planning. By connecting mapping services, ride-hailing interfaces, and autonomous vehicle fleets, the companies aim to build a multi-entry ecosystem that increases service visibility and encourages more frequent use of autonomous transportation options.

Multi-Year Strategic Partnership Between WeRide and Tencent

The collaboration between the companies began in April 2024 when they first formed a strategic alliance focused on developing autonomous driving cloud infrastructure. The partnership expanded further in May 2025 with initiatives designed to support the large-scale commercialization of Level 4 Robotaxi services. The latest integration of the WeRide Robotaxi service into Tencent’s mobility ecosystem represents the most visible milestone of this ongoing collaboration and reflects a coordinated effort to scale autonomous ride-hailing through major digital platforms.

Global Expansion Strengthens Autonomous Mobility Strategy

While China remains a central deployment market, the company has been rapidly extending its Robotaxi footprint across international mobility ecosystems. The autonomous fleet is already connected with major ride-hailing platforms such as Uber, Grab, and TXAI, while additional integration is planned with the Swiss on-demand mobility platform IOKI. Fully driverless commercial operations have already launched in Abu Dhabi, with additional public services operating in Dubai and Riyadh, alongside testing and pilot programs in Singapore and Zurich.

The company continues to emphasize a safety-first operational philosophy supported by localized service networks and city-level fleet management. As integrations with large digital mobility platforms increase and new deployment markets open globally, autonomous ride-hailing is gradually moving from pilot programs toward scalable commercial transportation services.
