The GWM ORA 5 made its global debut on March 12, 2026, during a dedicated launch event in Bangkok, Thailand. The unveiling highlighted the company’s strategy to expand electrified vehicle offerings by introducing both hybrid and fully electric powertrain options within a single model lineup. Full pricing details are scheduled to be announced during media day at the 47th Bangkok International Motor Show on March 23, positioning the new vehicle as a key addition to the brand’s passenger car portfolio.
Powertrain Options and Performance
The GWM ORA 5 will be available with two electrified configurations designed to meet different driving preferences. The hybrid version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor, producing a combined output of 223 hp and 476 Nm. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, with fuel efficiency rated at 4.3 L/100 km. The battery electric variant uses a front-mounted motor generating 204 hp and 260 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
Vehicle Dimensions and Variant Lineup
The electric version of the ORA 5 is equipped with a 58.3 kWh battery pack that provides a driving range of up to 520 km based on the NEDC testing cycle. It also supports DC fast charging at up to 120 kW, enabling the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. The vehicle measures 4,471 mm in length, 1,833 mm in width, and 1,641 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Buyers will be able to choose from four variants: HEV Pro, HEV Ultra, EV Pro, and EV Ultra.
