According to company leadership, the Li Auto i9 electric SUV will serve as the top-tier model within the manufacturer’s pure electric lineup. The vehicle will sit above the existing i8 model and is expected to feature larger physical dimensions, reinforcing its flagship positioning. For reference, the Li i8 measures 5,085 millimeters in length and offers a wheelbase of 3,050 millimeters. By introducing a larger premium electric SUV, the company intends to diversify its battery electric vehicle portfolio while addressing broader customer needs across different market segments.
Growth Strategy and Technology Focus for 2026
The Li Auto i9 electric SUV is also central to the company’s broader growth strategy for 2026. The automaker aims to achieve approximately 20 percent year-on-year growth in vehicle deliveries, which would translate to around 490,000 units for the year. This target follows a challenging period in which deliveries declined 18.8 percent to 406,343 units. Alongside new vehicle introductions, the company plans to deepen investments in artificial intelligence technologies and begin formal expansion into overseas markets to reduce reliance on intense domestic competition.
