Next-Generation Copper Foil for Advanced Battery Manufacturing

During the event, the company will display a roll-form copper foil featuring a thickness of 4 μm, a width of 1,400 mm, and a length reaching 5 km, demonstrating manufacturing capability at large industrial scale. Alongside this product, SK Nexilis will present standard copper foil for secondary batteries, as well as high-strength and high-stretch variants designed specifically for next-generation cylindrical battery formats used in high-performance electrified vehicles and energy storage applications.

Emerging Materials for Solid-State and Lithium Metal Batteries

Beyond copper foil production, the company will share updates on research activities focused on future battery architectures. These developments include high-bonding copper foil compatible with emerging dry-process battery manufacturing techniques. SK Nexilis is also advancing corrosion-resistant current collectors intended for all-solid-state batteries, as well as specialized collectors designed to support lithium metal battery technologies that are expected to significantly increase energy density in upcoming electric mobility platforms.
