- Mitsubishi Fuso established a global engineering and operations hub in Kanchipuram to support product development and digital solutions.
- The new facility strengthens integration between engineering, production, and after-sales within Daimler Trucks’ global network.
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation has launched the Mitsubishi Fuso Tech Centre India global engineering hub in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, marking a strategic expansion of its global development footprint. The new facility began operations on March 9, 2026, and is designed to support advanced engineering, testing, and operational activities. The initiative strengthens Mitsubishi Fuso’s capability to accelerate development cycles while improving collaboration across international teams within the Daimler Trucks ecosystem.
Engineering Infrastructure and Testing Capabilities
The 2,847-square-meter centre includes collaborative workspaces, a design studio, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing rigs, and a diagnostic laboratory. These capabilities allow engineers to perform advanced control system validation and diagnostics without requiring physical vehicle prototypes. By using digital simulation and real-time testing infrastructure, the facility aims to improve development precision, enhance safety during validation processes, and significantly reduce time required for product engineering and testing activities.
Integrated Support for Global Operations
The centre will support cross-functional activities including development engineering, customer service operations, cost engineering, IT systems, digital solutions, and procurement. Located close to Daimler India Commercial Vehicles’ Oragadam manufacturing plant, which has been producing Fuso medium- and heavy-duty trucks for export since 2013, the hub is expected to strengthen integration between product development, manufacturing, and after-sales services across Daimler Trucks’ global commercial vehicle network.
