Investment Expands Manufacturing Capacity in León
The expansion plan for the SAMTECH facility was revealed during a meeting between company executives and local economic reactivation authorities in León. The new investment will enhance production capabilities at the existing plant located within the PILBA industrial park. By increasing operational capacity and workforce levels, the initiative aims to strengthen the plant’s role as a supply base for international automotive markets while contributing to industrial growth within Guanajuato’s manufacturing ecosystem.
Production Focus on Critical Automotive Safety Components
The León facility specializes in forging technology used to manufacture critical automotive safety and assembly components. One of its primary products is the hub bearing, a component responsible for connecting the wheel assembly to the vehicle axle while supporting safe vehicle motion. In addition to hub bearings, the plant also produces gears, bearing rings, and high-pressure tanks designed for automotive applications. From León, these components are exported to markets across the United States, South America, and Europe, strengthening the plant’s role in global supply chains.
