On March 10, Ford introduced an upgraded version of the Ford electric Explorer Standard Range, bringing improvements in driving range, power delivery, and technology features. The update focuses on increasing efficiency through a new battery system while enhancing everyday usability with additional functions. With these upgrades, the electric SUV strengthens its position in the growing EV market by combining improved performance, longer driving capability, and expanded technology integration.
Battery Upgrade Extends Driving Range and Performance
The Ford electric Explorer Standard Range now incorporates a lithium iron phosphate battery that increases the driving range to as much as 444 kilometers on a full charge, representing an improvement of more than 17 percent compared with the previous configuration. The vehicle also receives an updated electric motor delivering 140 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. This powertrain enhancement allows the SUV to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in roughly eight seconds, delivering stronger responsiveness and smoother performance for daily driving conditions.
Technology Features and New Explorer Collection Variant
The upgraded electric SUV introduces improved advanced driver assistance systems designed to enhance safety and driver confidence. Another addition is Pro Power Onboard, a feature that enables the vehicle to supply electricity to external devices, expanding its utility beyond transportation. In addition to the technical improvements, the company also unveiled the Explorer Collection variant within the Ford Collection lineup, incorporating distinctive design elements, unique colors, and materials inspired by modern sporting equipment aesthetics.
