The patent relates to a charging device designed to enable fast DC charging for low-voltage electric vehicles operating on sub-200V platforms while utilizing existing high-voltage CCS2 charging infrastructure already deployed across charging networks.

The patented device aims to resolve a key interoperability challenge within India’s EV charging ecosystem. Many low-voltage electric vehicles, including small commercial EVs, pickup vans, and vehicles built according to GB/T Bharat DC 001 standards, have traditionally been incompatible with widely deployed high-voltage fast charging systems. The technology introduces power management and voltage conversion capabilities that allow safe and efficient energy transfer between high-voltage CCS2 chargers and low-voltage vehicle battery systems.

The companies indicated that the technology is particularly relevant for vehicle segments supporting urban logistics and last-mile freight mobility.
