Quick Takeaways
  • SkyDrive signed an LOI with Aeroauto Global for eight SD-05 eVTOL aircraft scheduled for deployment between 2028 and 2029.
  • Expanded partnerships with Aeroauto Global and SAI Flight support SkyDrive’s advanced air mobility launch strategy in Florida.

The SkyDrive SD-05 eVTOL aircraft order marks a notable step in the expansion of advanced air mobility operations in the United States. Japanese electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft developer SkyDrive Inc. announced a Letter of Intent with Aeroauto Global, a Florida-based integration and infrastructure company focused on next-generation air mobility solutions. The agreement outlines the planned acquisition and deployment of eight aircraft to support emerging urban air transport networks in the region.

Aircraft Deployment Plan and Florida Market Expansion

Under the agreement, Aeroauto Global intends to introduce the aircraft gradually as the advanced air mobility ecosystem develops in Florida. Four SKYDRIVE SD-05 units are expected to be delivered in 2028, followed by another four aircraft in 2029. The arrangement establishes the basic commercial framework for the purchase while reinforcing SkyDrive’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market, particularly Florida, which has been positioning itself as an early hub for urban air mobility operations and infrastructure development.

Strategic Partnerships Supporting 2028 Launch

Alongside the agreement with Aeroauto Global, the company also expanded its collaboration with SAI Flight, extending the partnership beyond South Carolina to include Florida operations. SAI Flight operates its second-largest base in the state, making it an important partner for operational readiness and network support. With these two agreements in place, SkyDrive has effectively established a partnership cluster designed to facilitate infrastructure readiness, operational deployment, and service launch preparations ahead of the planned 2028 advanced air mobility rollout.
