- Chery launched pre-sales for the QQ3 electric vehicle with ADAS and smart cockpit features.
- The compact EV offers up to 420 km range and received nearly 22,000 pre-orders within two hours.
Chery has officially started pre-sales for the Chery QQ3 electric vehicle, introducing a new generation compact electric car designed for the highly competitive small EV market. The model brings together advanced driver assistance systems, intelligent cockpit technology, and improved electric driving performance. Positioned as an affordable yet technology-focused urban vehicle, the new model aims to strengthen Chery’s presence in China’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle segment.
Pre-Sales Launch and Pricing Strategy
The company opened pre-sales with four variants offering different specifications and performance configurations. The announced pre-sale prices are 68,920 yuan, 78,920 yuan, 78,985 yuan, and 89,985 yuan respectively, placing the vehicle in an accessible price range for compact electric car buyers. The pricing strategy targets young urban consumers who seek modern technology, electric mobility, and competitive cost of ownership within the entry-level EV category.
The market response to the vehicle has been immediate. According to Chery vice president Li Xueyong, the vehicle recorded 21,957 pre-sales orders within just two hours after pre-sales began. This strong early demand highlights the growing consumer interest in technologically advanced yet affordable electric vehicles, particularly in China's highly competitive small EV market.
Vehicle Dimensions and Platform Design
The new compact EV has been developed with dimensions that balance urban practicality with interior space. The vehicle measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width, and 1,573 mm in height, while the wheelbase extends to 2,700 mm. These proportions provide improved cabin room and stability compared with earlier compact electric vehicles, allowing the model to compete more effectively with other small EVs designed for daily city driving.
Smart Cockpit and AI-Powered Human-Machine Interaction
A major highlight of the vehicle is its intelligent human-machine interaction system integrated within the cabin. The vehicle features a 15.6-inch central display offering 2.5K resolution, delivering a large interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle control functions. The cockpit system is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip, enabling faster processing and smoother interaction for digital services and connected vehicle functions.
AI Agent Carmind and Voice Interaction
The intelligent cockpit integrates an AI-based virtual assistant named Carmind, designed to handle complex voice commands across multiple driving scenarios. The AI agent allows drivers to manage navigation, vehicle settings, and infotainment through natural voice control. This integration reflects the growing importance of AI-enabled digital ecosystems in modern vehicles, particularly in urban EVs targeting tech-oriented consumers.
Advanced Driver Assistance with Falcon 500 System
The Chery QQ3 electric vehicle is equipped with the Falcon 500 smart driving assistance system developed by Chery. This system introduces a range of advanced driver assistance features designed to improve safety and convenience in daily driving conditions. One of its key capabilities is automated parking support across more than 100 different environmental scenarios, allowing the vehicle to manage parking in complex spaces with minimal driver input.
Urban Navigate-on-Autopilot Capability
The vehicle also includes a navigate-on-autopilot feature optimized for both urban road environments and highway driving. The system assists with navigation guidance, lane management, and controlled driving assistance under specific conditions. By integrating advanced sensors and intelligent software algorithms, the system contributes to safer and more efficient driving experiences within densely populated city environments.
Electric Powertrain and Performance Options
The vehicle adopts a rear-mounted motor configuration with rear-wheel drive, providing balanced performance for a compact electric vehicle. Two motor options are available, delivering maximum power outputs of 58 kW and 90 kW respectively. These configurations allow customers to choose between efficient city commuting performance and stronger acceleration suitable for longer-distance driving scenarios.
The model is equipped with two battery pack options with capacities of 29.48 kWh and 41.28 kWh. These battery configurations deliver CLTC driving ranges of 310 kilometers and 420 kilometers respectively. Such range options allow the vehicle to meet the daily commuting needs of urban drivers while also supporting longer trips between charging sessions.
Fast Charging and Vehicle-to-Load Capability
The vehicle supports fast charging technology designed to improve charging convenience for electric vehicle owners. Under fast charging conditions, the battery can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in approximately 16.5 minutes. This short charging time significantly reduces downtime during longer journeys and enhances practicality for everyday urban mobility.
In addition to rapid charging capability, the vehicle includes a vehicle-to-load external power discharge system supporting 3.3 kW and 6.6 kW output levels. This feature allows the vehicle to power external devices and appliances during outdoor activities, making it useful for camping, mobile work environments, or emergency situations where portable electricity is required.
With its blend of intelligent cockpit technology, advanced driver assistance systems, efficient electric powertrain options, and competitive pricing strategy, the Chery QQ3 electric vehicle represents a significant step in expanding the accessibility of modern electric mobility within the compact EV market.
