Quick Takeaways
  • EGI Battery secured USD 10 million in seed financing led by TSV Capital to scale lithium-ion pouch cell production.
  • The Michigan facility will expand manufacturing capacity for electric aviation, drones, and robotics power systems.

A major funding milestone has been reached for EGI as the company accelerates development of advanced battery systems designed for next-generation mobility and robotics technologies. The EGI Battery lithium-ion pouch cell batteries program received new financial backing aimed at scaling manufacturing capacity and strengthening commercialization plans. The investment supports rapid growth in high-performance battery solutions required by electric aviation platforms, aerospace applications, drone systems, and emerging humanoid robotics technologies.

Seed funding supports production and technology expansion

On March 3, EGI Battery Inc., a United States-based advanced battery technology and manufacturing company, confirmed the successful close of a USD 10 million seed financing round led by TSV Capital. The funding will help accelerate manufacturing scale-up, commercial market expansion, and ongoing development of high-performance lithium-ion pouch cell technology engineered for demanding aerospace and advanced robotics applications.

Michigan facility designed for phased manufacturing scale-up

The company operates from the Zeeb Campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where approximately 15,000 square feet have been allocated for initial manufacturing and laboratory operations, alongside 5,000 square feet dedicated to office space. The site also offers access to a broader 130,000 square feet of building capacity, enabling long-term expansion through a phased scale-up model that allows production growth to progress in performance-driven stages.
