The Ahmedabad-based startup has focused on deep engineering capabilities, building most of the core technology internally before entering the consumer market. This approach positions the company among a limited group of Indian EV startups attempting full-stack product development rather than relying heavily on imported subsystems.

Integrated In-House EV Technology Stack

The platform integrates nine major components developed internally, covering critical vehicle systems that are typically sourced from multiple suppliers. The architecture aims to provide tighter integration between hardware and software, improving efficiency, performance, and reliability.

According to the company, both certification processes were completed in a relatively short timeframe. Homologation from recognized automotive testing bodies provides external verification of the platform’s compliance with Indian safety and performance standards.

Extensive Real-World Testing Across Indian Conditions

The EV platform has undergone extensive validation, including more than 51,000 km of real-world riding and approximately 3,400 km of structured durability testing. The evaluation program covered diverse terrain and climate conditions representative of Indian roads.

Testing included dynamometer analysis as well as field trials designed to simulate real usage patterns. Such validation is particularly important for electric motorcycles operating in markets where road infrastructure, traffic density, and temperature conditions differ significantly from traditional EV development regions.

Engineering Focus On Local Riding Conditions

The validation strategy accounted for high ambient temperatures, varying road quality, and aggressive riding cycles often seen in Indian urban and semi-urban environments. These factors influence thermal management, battery durability, and drivetrain efficiency.

Rare-Earth-Free Motor Development Initiative

The engineering team at Samarth E-Mobility is also working on a rare-earth-free motor design. This technology aims to reduce reliance on materials such as neodymium, which are primarily mined and processed in China.

Reducing dependence on rare-earth materials could lower supply chain risks while potentially improving cost competitiveness for domestic manufacturers. Globally, several automakers and component suppliers are exploring similar motor architectures to address geopolitical and material supply constraints.

Manufacturing Infrastructure And Production Capacity

The company operates a dedicated R&D center in Kalol, Gujarat, where a team of more than 100 engineers has been developing the platform over the past three years. Manufacturing operations are located at a separate facility in Chhatral, Gujarat.

The production site spans more than 150,000 square feet and has a reported monthly capacity of over 45,000 electric two-wheelers, translating to an annual capacity exceeding 500,000 units. This level of infrastructure indicates preparation for rapid scaling once product demand accelerates.

Targeting India’s Premium Motorcycle Segment

The upcoming electric motorcycle will focus on replacing internal combustion engine motorcycles in the 125cc–200cc category. While India’s electric two-wheeler market has expanded rapidly, most available models remain scooters or entry-level commuter vehicles.

The premium motorcycle segment offers higher margins and stronger brand loyalty but has seen relatively limited electric competition so far. By targeting this segment, the company aims to differentiate itself from mass-market scooter manufacturers.

India’s broader EV growth has been supported by rising fuel prices, urban air quality concerns, and government programs such as the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) initiative. However, much of the industry still depends on imported components such as battery cells and power semiconductors.

As policymakers continue encouraging domestic manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, companies capable of developing indigenous EV technology platforms are increasingly viewed as strategically significant for the country’s automotive supply chain evolution.
