Quick Takeaways
  • L&F will present new LFP cathode technologies and production plans at InterBattery 2026.
  • The company is advancing high-density cathode materials for future EV battery applications.

L&F Co. Ltd. announced its participation in InterBattery 2026 in Seoul Special City from March 11 to 13, 2026. During the event, the company will highlight progress in L&F LFP cathode materials as it prepares for commercial-scale production expected in the second half of 2026. The presentation will focus on technological advances designed to improve battery performance, density, and manufacturing efficiency.

Advances in Lithium Iron Phosphate Cathode Technology

The company plans to showcase its latest developments in lithium iron phosphate cathode engineering, including the creation of Fe2O3-based precursor-free material technology. This approach is designed to simplify production processes while maintaining strong electrochemical performance and cost competitiveness for large-scale battery manufacturing.

Proprietary Iron Phosphate Material Development

A key highlight will be its proprietary FP (iron phosphate) platform, which supports improved material stability and optimized structure for next-generation battery applications. These innovations aim to strengthen the competitiveness of phosphate-based battery chemistries in global energy storage and electric mobility markets.

High-Density Cathode Materials and Mass Production Plans

The company will also outline its roadmap for the mass production of LFP cathode materials with press density levels reaching 2.50 g/cc or higher. In addition, development work continues on ultra-high-density variants targeting approximately 2.70 g/cc, which could enable higher energy density and improved battery packaging efficiency.

Expanding Portfolio for Future Battery Chemistries

Beyond phosphate-based cathodes, L&F will present a broader materials portfolio that includes high-voltage middle-nickel cathode materials and lithium manganese-rich compositions. The company is also advancing materials designed for emerging battery technologies such as all-solid-state cells and sodium-ion batteries.

According to the company, supply negotiations are currently underway with several global automotive manufacturers and battery cell producers as demand for advanced cathode materials continues to grow in the global electrification market.
