On March 9, 2026, Subaru announced a collaboration with Infineon Technologies to design the Subaru AURIX TC4x ADAS integrated ECU, a new microcontroller-based control platform for future vehicles. The system will be deployed in a central electronic control unit responsible for coordinating advanced driver assistance systems and vehicle motion management.
Next-Generation Vehicle Control Architecture
The partnership supports Subaru’s plan to introduce a unified electrical and electronic architecture across battery electric, hybrid, and gasoline vehicles. This architecture aims to improve computing efficiency while enabling more advanced driver assistance features and integrated vehicle control.
A key objective is achieving ultra-low latency processing combined with reduced energy consumption when handling vehicle control data.
Integration of Infineon AURIX TC4x MCU
Subaru has participated from the early development phase of Infineon’s automotive microcontroller platform, the AURIX TC4x. This close collaboration helped optimize design specifications so the processor can support complex real-time vehicle control workloads.
ADAS and Motion Control Coordination
The new microcontroller will power Subaru’s integrated ECU responsible for coordinating next-generation EyeSight driver assistance functions alongside vehicle dynamics systems.
Enhanced Driving Performance and Safety
Within the integrated control platform, the processor will manage functions such as all-wheel drive control and advanced motion dynamics. This architecture enables tighter coordination between ADAS technologies and core vehicle behavior.
