- Uno Minda has introduced a new trumpet horn range for the Indian automotive aftermarket covering multiple vehicle segments.
- The lineup includes five horn models designed for passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and heavy fleets.
Uno Minda, a Tier 1 supplier of automotive components to original equipment manufacturers, has introduced Uno Minda trumpet horns for the Indian aftermarket, expanding its portfolio of vehicle accessories and replacement components. The new range includes five models across the 80mm and 90mm diameter categories, targeting passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, and heavy commercial fleets. The products are distributed through major retail channels and online marketplaces, with prices ranging from ₹800 to ₹3,400.
The introduction reflects growing demand for dependable horn systems in India's expanding vehicle population. Increasing congestion in urban and semi-urban areas has placed greater emphasis on effective road communication, positioning horns as essential safety-related components rather than secondary accessories.
Aftermarket Demand Driven by Vehicle Growth
India’s automotive aftermarket has expanded alongside a rising vehicle parc that includes a significant number of ageing two-wheelers, passenger cars, and commercial vehicles requiring regular component replacements. Within this ecosystem, horn systems play a crucial role in alerting surrounding traffic and supporting driver awareness.
The manufacturer states that the newly introduced range has been developed to bridge a gap in the aftermarket where many replacement components fail to match original equipment quality levels. By focusing on OE-grade performance and compatibility across multiple vehicle segments, the lineup aims to offer reliability while remaining accessible across various price points.
Product Lineup Covering Multiple Applications
The newly launched portfolio includes several variants designed for specific vehicle requirements and installation environments.
E80 Electronic Trumpet Horn
The E80 12V electronic model represents the premium offering within the range. It features an integrated electronic chip designed to maintain consistent sound output while providing reverse polarity protection and simplified plug-and-play installation. The product is supported by a three-year warranty from the date of manufacture, positioning it as a long-term replacement option for vehicle owners prioritizing durability.
T80 Vertical Trumpet Horn Variants
Two versions of the T80 12V vertical horn are included in the lineup, one equipped with a protective grill and another without it. Both designs use a compact vertical configuration intended for vehicles with limited mounting space.
The variant without the grill focuses on producing a clear and far-reaching acoustic signal, while the grilled version provides added physical protection for the horn assembly. Both are engineered with resistance to dust and splashes, supporting operation in diverse road environments.
T80 Universal Trumpet Horn
A standard T80 12V trumpet horn has been introduced as a universal replacement option suitable for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Built with ABS construction, the product is designed for broad compatibility and simple installation, targeting fleet operators and individual vehicle owners seeking reliable replacement parts without premium feature requirements.
Dedicated Horn System for Commercial Vehicles
The portfolio also includes the T90 24V melody horn designed specifically for heavy commercial vehicles. According to the manufacturer, the product represents a new approach in its category by replacing traditional pipe horns used in large trucks and buses.
Operating on a 24V electrical system compatible with commercial vehicle configurations, the horn offers eight selectable tones. This allows fleet operators to maintain consistent audible signaling in high-traffic environments and on highways while enabling sound differentiation through multiple tone options.
Focus on Durability and Installation Compatibility
All models in the range have been produced using materials tested for resistance to heat, moisture, dust, and vibration, conditions commonly encountered on Indian roads. The company states that the horn systems are designed to support straightforward installation across different vehicle platforms, reducing the need for specialized modifications.
Anand Kumar, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the company's aftermarket division, emphasized the role of clear signaling in modern traffic environments. "Clear and effective on-road communication has become increasingly important with rising traffic congestion and varied driving environments," he said while discussing the product introduction.
The launch of Uno Minda trumpet horns highlights the continued expansion of the automotive replacement parts market in India as suppliers increasingly introduce products that match original equipment standards while serving a broader customer base across multiple vehicle categories.
