Quick Takeaways
  • Shinhwa expands Auburn operations with USD 37 million investment and tooling integration.
  • Acquisition of SAPP S.p.A. strengthens U.S. aluminum die casting capabilities.

The Shinhwa Auto USA Corporation Alabama investment marks a major expansion of the company’s manufacturing footprint in Auburn, Alabama. Announced on May 3, the USD 37 million initiative strengthens the company’s ability to provide integrated aluminum die casting solutions within the United States.

Expansion of Auburn manufacturing operations

The new investment includes the integration of Italian toolmaker SAPP S.p.A. into the company’s Auburn operations. By incorporating advanced tooling capabilities, the facility will be able to deliver end-to-end aluminum die casting solutions from a single U.S. manufacturing base.

The tooling division will operate from a separate facility located in Auburn Technology Park West. This site will support internal manufacturing requirements while also offering engineering services, tooling maintenance, and technical support for external customers using high-pressure die casting systems.

Strengthening die casting engineering expertise

The expansion follows the company’s acquisition of SAPP S.p.A., an Italian specialist known for precision engineering of die casting tools. The integration strengthens design and tooling capabilities that are critical for advanced aluminum component manufacturing.

Growing aluminum casting capabilities

Since entering the Auburn market in 2020, Shinhwa has expanded several times, building expertise in high-pressure and variable-pressure aluminum casting. The facility also supports automated machining processes and system-level component assembly for automotive applications.

This growth reinforces the strategic impact of the Shinhwa Auto USA Corporation Alabama investment, positioning the company to deliver advanced die casting solutions to automotive manufacturers across North America.
