- BYD introduces Seal 07 EV and Sealion 06 EV with advanced blade battery and flash-charging technology.
- The company plans to build 20,000 flash-charging stations across China to accelerate EV adoption.
The BYD Seal 07 EV has been officially introduced alongside the 2026 Sealion 06 EV, marking a new step in the company’s electric vehicle technology strategy. Both models feature the latest second-generation blade battery and new flash-charging technology designed to significantly shorten charging times and improve overall electric vehicle usability.
The BYD Seal 07 EV enters the mid-to-large electric sedan segment and is offered in two variants with starting prices of 169,900 yuan and 189,900 yuan. The model integrates advanced battery technology and smart driving features aimed at strengthening the company’s competitive position in the rapidly expanding EV market.
Electric Sedan Performance and Range
The electric sedan is powered by a 69-kWh battery pack that delivers a maximum driving range of up to 705 kilometers. A single rear-mounted motor producing 240 kW powers the vehicle, adopting a rear-wheel-drive architecture focused on performance and efficiency.
In terms of size and positioning, the sedan measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. These dimensions place it firmly in the mid-to-large electric sedan category, targeting consumers seeking long-range electric mobility combined with modern design and performance.
Advanced Driver Assistance Technology
The vehicle is expected to support the God’s Eye 5.0 driving assistance system, which includes city navigation assist functions and enhanced intelligent driving capabilities. These features reflect the growing integration of smart technologies into modern electric vehicles.
Sealion 06 EV Expands the Electric SUV Lineup
Alongside the sedan, the manufacturer introduced the 2026 Sealion 06 EV SUV, available in four variants with starting prices ranging from 159,900 yuan to 179,900 yuan. The SUV maintains dimensions of 4,810 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height with a 2,820 mm wheelbase.
The electric SUV offers a maximum driving range of up to 710 kilometers. Charging performance is a key highlight, with the vehicle capable of charging from 10% to 97% in approximately nine minutes under normal temperature conditions.
Extreme Temperature Charging Capability
Even in extremely cold environments reaching minus 30 degrees Celsius, the battery can charge from 20% to 97% in around 11 minutes. This capability demonstrates improved thermal management and battery performance in harsh conditions.
The SUV also features a rear-mounted single motor delivering 240 kW, an increase from the previous 180 kW configuration. The chassis includes the DiSus-C intelligent body control system and a high-speed tire blowout stabilization system designed to maintain vehicle stability at speeds of up to 140 km/h.
Flash Charging Infrastructure Expansion
During the launch event, the company highlighted its new-generation flash-charging technology, which significantly reduces charging time and improves EV convenience for drivers. The technology is designed to enhance the practicality of long-distance electric mobility.
To support this ecosystem, the company plans to construct 20,000 flash-charging stations across China by the end of the year and later expand the network to overseas markets as part of its broader global electrification strategy.
