On March 5, Santa Clara, California-based PlusAI introduced PlusAI SuperDrive 6.0 autonomous driving software, a new generation autonomous trucking platform designed for commercial-scale freight deployment. The latest release expands operational capability with night driving support and construction zone handling while significantly accelerating AI model training by ten times. These upgrades allow faster feature development and validation for real-world freight environments.
Commercial Freight Deployment in Texas
Autonomous trucks equipped with the updated system are already transporting commercial freight across Texas. Construction zone handling has been activated in operational fleets, enabling trucks to navigate complex road work areas safely and efficiently. The company plans to introduce night driving capability in the coming weeks, which will allow continuous 24/7 freight movement along established customer routes.
Higher Utilization Through Continuous Operations
Round-the-clock operations could dramatically improve truck productivity. By enabling overnight deliveries, freight operators may potentially double vehicle utilization compared with traditional daytime logistics operations.
Advanced Compute Architecture for Autonomous Trucks
The platform uses a distributed compute architecture built on multi-node high-performance system-on-chips including NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and Thor. This setup is designed to support the uptime, reliability, and processing requirements necessary for large-scale autonomous freight networks.

At the core of the system is a new Transformer-based “Reflex” layer integrated within the PlusAI AV 2.0 architecture. This technology combines large-scale environmental perception with advanced motion forecasting, allowing autonomous trucks to interpret road scenarios more accurately and respond to dynamic traffic conditions.
