Quick Takeaways
  • Valeo will present an advanced LED-based vehicle lighting solution at SXSW 2026.
  • The system combines adaptive headlamps, communication features, and illuminated branding.

The Valeo front lighting system will be showcased at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, United States, from March 12–14, 2026. The technology highlights advanced exterior lighting designed to improve road visibility while enabling vehicles to communicate visually with other road users.

Customizable LED Lighting Architecture

The system integrates more than 1,700 customizable LEDs positioned across the vehicle’s front end. These LEDs allow manufacturers to create distinctive lighting signatures while also supporting functional communication signals. An illuminated logo is integrated into the front fascia, reinforcing brand identity and enhancing visual recognition in traffic environments.

Ultra-Slim Adaptive Driving Beam Headlamps

The lighting solution includes two ultra-slim adaptive driving beam headlamps measuring 15 mm by 200 mm. These compact headlamps dynamically adjust illumination patterns to improve nighttime visibility while minimizing glare for oncoming drivers. The design supports both safety improvements and modern vehicle styling.

Lighting as a Communication Interface

By combining customizable LEDs with adaptive beam technology, the Valeo front lighting system enables headlights to function as interactive communication tools. This capability allows vehicles to signal intentions, improve awareness among road users, and support emerging intelligent mobility ecosystems.

Additional Technologies on Display

Alongside the lighting innovation, Valeo will also present the Panovision display system and the Valeo Racer concept. The Racer concept is expected to appear as a standard feature in the upcoming Renault Filante model, further demonstrating the company’s focus on advanced vehicle interface and technology integration.

These innovations reflect the growing role of intelligent lighting systems in modern automotive design, combining safety, communication capability, and brand differentiation.
