The Irizar Efficient lineup Mexico was presented on March 5 as Irizar México unveiled six models from its Efficient coach family at Expo Foro 2026. The display represented the most comprehensive range the company has introduced in the country, reinforcing its focus on efficiency, aerodynamics, and lower operating costs for modern passenger transport fleets.
Expanded Efficient Range on Display
Among the vehicles showcased were the i5 Efficient, i6S Efficient and i8 Efficient models. The lineup reflects the manufacturer’s strategy to offer advanced long-distance and intercity transport solutions with improved operational efficiency and passenger comfort.
The introduction of the i6S Efficient marked a key highlight of the presentation. According to Irizar, the model represents the most efficient coach the company has developed in Mexico to date.
i6S Efficient Brings Major Efficiency Improvements
The new vehicle incorporates several technical enhancements aimed at lowering operational costs and environmental impact. Engineers achieved a 750 kg reduction in vehicle weight along with a 30% improvement in aerodynamic coefficient.
These advancements contribute to up to 10% lower fuel consumption and emissions compared with earlier designs, strengthening the positioning of the Irizar Efficient lineup Mexico as a next-generation solution for fleet operators.
Aerodynamic and Design Upgrades
Key aerodynamic refinements include a redesigned front geometry, optimized windshield and side glass layout, and digital camera mirrors replacing traditional rearview mirrors. Additional updates involve improved airflow management for the air-conditioning system, redesigned side skirts, and optimized rear airflow control to further enhance efficiency and vehicle stability.
