Strategic collaboration to strengthen semiconductor production

The ROHM Suchi Semicon semiconductor partnership marks a new step in strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. On March 3, ROHM Co., Ltd. and Suchi Semicon Pvt. Ltd. announced a strategic collaboration designed to serve both domestic demand and international semiconductor markets. The partnership combines ROHM’s device technology capabilities and global industry expertise with Suchi Semicon’s local manufacturing operations and execution capabilities.

Back-end processing and manufacturing roadmap

Under the collaboration framework, the Japanese semiconductor manufacturer is evaluating the outsourcing of back-end manufacturing processes for power devices and integrated circuit products to the Indian partner. Technical assessments are already underway as both companies examine production feasibility and operational integration.

Potential production starting in 2026

If evaluations progress successfully, the collaboration could support mass production shipments beginning in 2026. The companies are also developing a joint roadmap to broaden the portfolio of semiconductor packages produced locally, improving regional supply capability.

Exploring future semiconductor business opportunities

Beyond immediate manufacturing plans, the partners intend to explore additional business opportunities and further technology collaboration, supporting the long-term expansion of semiconductor manufacturing capabilities in India.
