The launch will take advantage of a newly introduced simplified certification system for U.S.-manufactured passenger vehicles established by Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT).

Performance-Focused Acura Integra Type S

The Acura Integra Type S is positioned as a high-performance compact sedan. The vehicle measures 4.725 meters in length, 1.900 meters in width, and 1.407 meters in height. It is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The powertrain produces a maximum output of 320 horsepower and peak torque of 310 lb-ft, targeting enthusiasts who value manual performance driving. The model will expand the premium sporty lineup available to Japanese customers once the Honda US-built models Japan sales initiative begins.

Honda Passport TrailSport Elite SUV Specifications

The drivetrain delivers a maximum output of 285 horsepower and peak torque of 262 lb-ft, providing capability suited for both on-road comfort and light off-road performance.

Manufacturing and Production Locations

Both vehicles are manufactured by Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC (HDMA), the company’s U.S. vehicle development and production subsidiary. The Acura Integra is assembled at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, while the Passport TrailSport Elite is produced at the Alabama Auto Plant.

The decision to introduce these American-built vehicles reflects evolving regulatory frameworks and expanding cross-market product strategies within the global automotive industry.
