The Fenabrave Brazil vehicle sales February 2026 data shows the country’s automotive market maintained stability with total sales of 185,150 new vehicles during the month. According to the Brazilian dealer association, this represented a marginal increase of 0.1% compared with February 2025 and a stronger 8.6% rise from January 2026.
The figures combine registrations of passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses, reflecting overall demand conditions in the Brazilian mobility sector.
Vehicle Sales Breakdown by Segment
Passenger cars remained the dominant segment in February 2026. Out of the total vehicle sales, passenger cars accounted for the majority of market demand, followed by light commercial vehicles and heavy-duty transport segments.
- Passenger cars: 140,548 units
- Commercial vehicles: 36,249 units
- Trucks: 6,611 units
- Buses: 1,742 units
The strong share of passenger cars highlights the continued importance of consumer mobility and urban transport demand in Brazil.
Leading Automakers in Passenger Vehicle Sales
Several global and regional automakers maintained strong positions in the Brazilian market during February.
Volkswagen led the passenger vehicle segment with 26,046 units sold, capturing an 18.5% market share. Fiat followed with 21,789 units and a 15.5% share, while General Motors secured third position with 14,144 units representing 10.1% of the market.
Other Key Passenger Car Manufacturers
Hyundai sold 12,116 units, achieving an 8.6% share. BYD continued expanding its presence with 11,379 units and an 8.1% share. Jeep recorded 8,235 units with a 5.9% share, while Renault delivered 7,962 vehicles, representing 5.7% of passenger vehicle sales.
Top-Selling Models in February
The Volkswagen Polo emerged as the best-selling passenger vehicle with 7,517 units sold. Other popular models included the Fiat Mobi with 6,560 units and the Fiat Argo with 6,478 units. The Chevrolet Onix followed closely with 6,450 units, while Volkswagen’s T-Cross and Tera models also maintained strong demand.
In the commercial vehicle segment, the Fiat Strada led the market with 11,191 units sold. Additional high-performing models included the Fiat Toro with 3,941 units, Toyota Hilux with 3,304 units, and Volkswagen Saveiro with 2,827 units.
Cumulative sales for the first two months of 2026 reached 355,680 units, representing a slight year-over-year decline of 0.1%. Financial analysts at Scotiabank maintained their earlier forecast, projecting Brazil’s full-year automotive market to reach approximately 2.6 million units in 2026 and 2.68 million units in 2027, indicating steady long-term demand for new vehicles.
