- VinFast ultra-luxury electric vehicles expand with the Lac Hong 800S and 900S under a new three-brand strategy.
- The models combine Vietnamese design identity with a tri-motor electric powertrain and executive-grade interiors.
VinFast ultra-luxury electric vehicles have entered a new chapter following the company’s restructuring into three distinct brand lines and the unveiling of the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S in Hanoi on March 3, 2026. The move formalises a tiered brand architecture while positioning the new flagship models for commercial launch in 2027. With this strategic shift, VinFast aims to strengthen its premium positioning, expand its global manufacturing footprint and reinforce its leadership in the Vietnamese EV market.
Three-Brand Architecture Reshapes Portfolio
The restructuring divides the company’s vehicle lineup into Lac Hong, VF and Green, each targeting distinct customer segments and mobility needs.
Lac Hong for Ultra-Luxury
The Lac Hong division anchors the VinFast ultra-luxury electric vehicles strategy. It now includes three models: the 900 LX introduced in 2025, along with the newly revealed Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S. The 900 LX also offers an armoured configuration, underlining the brand’s focus on exclusivity and security.
VF and Green Brand Segments
The VF range addresses the mass-market passenger EV space, spanning the VF 3 through VF 9 and the seven-seat VF MPV 7. Meanwhile, the Green brand concentrates on commercial and service mobility, including the Limo Green, Herio Green, Nerio Green and Minio Green models. This segmentation supports clearer product positioning and scalable growth.
Design Identity Rooted in Vietnamese Culture
The Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S integrate national cultural references into their exterior and interior design language.
Exterior Symbolism
The front grille features vertical slats inspired by bamboo imagery, while the wing-shaped badge draws from the Lac bird symbol. Decorative motifs referencing the Dong Son bronze drum and terraced rice fields appear across body panels and cabin surfaces. The brand script uses a calligraphic typeface with gold-plated alloy lettering, reinforcing exclusivity.
Executive Interior Craftsmanship
Inside, the VinFast ultra-luxury electric vehicles offer Nappa leather upholstery, wood trim and gold-plated detailing. Both models include zero-gravity executive seating, power-assisted doors and integrated entertainment systems. The Lac Hong 900S adds a partition between front and rear cabins, a starlight headliner, a projection entertainment display and a foldable rear workstation.
Tri-Motor Electric Powertrain and Chassis Technology
On the technical front, both models are equipped with an active suspension system and can be configured with a tri-motor electric powertrain layout.
Performance Configuration
The configuration places one motor at the front axle and two at the rear, delivering a combined output of up to 460 kW. This setup supports dynamic performance expectations within the ultra-luxury EV category while maintaining all-electric propulsion.
Market Performance and Manufacturing Expansion
VinFast reported delivering 175,099 vehicles in Vietnam in 2025, describing it as a national sales record. The company stated it has maintained the top position in the Vietnamese EV market for 16 consecutive months.
As a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC, the company manufactures electric SUVs, e-scooters and e-buses, with production facilities in Vietnam and India. Its Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu plant represents a $500 million investment with planned annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles and approximately 3,500 direct jobs at full operation. Additional manufacturing plans in the United States further extend the global footprint supporting VinFast ultra-luxury electric vehicles and broader electrification ambitions.
Company leadership indicated that the formalised three-brand structure establishes a foundation for structured and professional growth, positioning the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S as showcases of engineering capability and manufacturing scale within the evolving premium EV landscape.
