- Dürr Brasil has completed the first phase of paint shop expansion at Caoa’s Anápolis facility.
- The upgrade will increase annual production capacity to 125,000 units by 2027.
Dürr Brasil has completed the first phase of a major paint shop expansion at the Caoa plant in Anápolis, Goiás, marking a significant milestone in automotive manufacturing automation. The project nearly doubles the facility’s production capability and strengthens operational efficiency. With advanced robotics, upgraded coating systems, and enhanced conveyor precision, Dürr Brasil is reinforcing its role in high-performance paint technologies. The modernization aligns with rising SUV demand and prepares the Anápolis facility for expanded vehicle output over the coming years.
Capacity Expansion at the Anápolis Facility
The upgraded paint shop significantly increases throughput at the Caoa plant. Previously operating with an installed capacity of 75,000 units per year, the Anápolis facility is now on track to achieve 125,000 units annually by March 2027. This expansion ensures that Dürr Brasil supports scalable production growth while maintaining coating quality and process reliability.
Production Models and Future Growth
The factory currently manufactures Tiggo 5x, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 8 SUVs. With the expanded paint shop, the facility gains additional flexibility to accommodate new production programs. The improved capacity positions Caoa to respond efficiently to market demand and diversify its SUV portfolio.
Advanced Automation and Robotics Integration
A core component of the paint shop expansion is enhanced automation. Dürr Brasil supplied 18 advanced painting robots to optimize application precision and coating consistency. These robots are integrated with new EOM conveyors designed to improve speed, alignment accuracy, and body handling during pre-treatment processes.
Vision-Guided Sealant Application
Automation upgrades also include 13 robots equipped with vision systems for sealant application. These systems ensure consistent material distribution across vehicle bodies, improving durability and finish quality while minimizing waste. The integration of robotics enhances repeatability and reduces process variability in high-volume production environments.
Upgraded Coating and Heating Systems
The expansion project extended E-coat primer and top-coat operations within the paint shop. New heating systems were installed to improve thermal efficiency and curing performance. Additionally, filtration systems in the E-coat area were upgraded to enhance environmental control and maintain consistent coating conditions.
Modernized Repair Booths and Quality Controls
Repair booths were modernized to support improved rework efficiency and finish standards. These upgrades contribute to higher surface quality and reduced cycle times, reinforcing the overall effectiveness of the paint shop expansion.
Strategic Impact on Manufacturing Operations
By implementing advanced automation, process optimization, and expanded coating capabilities, Dürr Brasil strengthens long-term manufacturing scalability at the Caoa plant. The enhanced paint capacity may also support upcoming production of Caoa Changan SUVs at the Anápolis facility, aligning operational readiness with future model launches and sustained production growth.
