On February 19, Audi introduced the Audi RS 5 plug-in hybrid, marking Audi Sport?s first high-performance electrified model. The performance sedan combines a twin-turbo V6 engine with an advanced electric motor and electrified quattro AWD to deliver both dynamic acceleration and improved efficiency. The Audi RS 5 plug-in hybrid is powered by a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine generating 375 kW and 600 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 130 kW electric motor that contributes 460 Nm, resulting in a combined system output of 470 kW and 825 Nm. Power is transmitted through an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission to a newly developed quattro AWD system featuring a preloaded center differential.

With this configuration, the Audi RS 5 plug-in hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of up to 285 km/h. Electro-mechanical torque vectoring at the rear axle enhances agility and cornering stability by distributing torque precisely between the rear wheels.

High-Voltage Battery and Charging Capability

The Audi RS 5 plug-in hybrid incorporates a high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 25.9 kWh. This enables an all-electric driving range of up to 84 km, allowing emission-free operation in urban and daily driving conditions. The integration of the high-voltage battery supports seamless switching between electric and combustion power.

AC charging is supported at up to 11 kW, enabling a full charge in approximately 2.5 hours. This charging capability ensures practical usability while maintaining the performance profile expected from an RS model.

The Audi RS 5 plug-in hybrid Sedan starts at EUR 106,200 in Germany, while the Avant variant is priced from EUR 107,850. Production takes place in Neckarsulm, Germany. European orders open in the first quarter of 2026, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in summer 2026.
