Quick Takeaways
  • DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system selected for new Indian flagship SUV platform with INR 2,200 million annual revenue potential.
  • BSVI aftertreatment program secured and new Kharkhoda Haryana plant planned to support Clean Air growth.
On February 13, Tenneco Clean Air India Limited announced that its DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system has been selected by an Indian OEM for a new-generation flagship SUV platform. The program is estimated to generate around INR 2,200 million in annual revenue and has already been recognised by leading Indian automotive reviewers for its on-road performance. The DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system is engineered to deliver consistent ride quality across varying speeds and road conditions while maintaining mechanical simplicity.

DaVinci DCx Advanced Suspension System for Flagship SUV Platform

The DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system is a purely mechanical solution that uses specially engineered discs, known as shim stacks, to precisely control hydraulic flow inside the damper. By optimising internal damping characteristics, the system ensures stable handling and enhanced comfort without relying on software, electronic sensors, or electric motors.
For the selected flagship SUV platform, this mechanical architecture enables predictable damping response and durability suited to Indian road conditions. The DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system supports improved ride comfort, body control, and road isolation, reinforcing its positioning in premium vehicle segments.

Mechanical Precision Without Electronic Complexity

Unlike electronically controlled suspension technologies, the DaVinci DCx advanced suspension system eliminates dependency on control units or actuator-driven components. The calibrated shim stack configuration regulates oil flow dynamically within the damper, delivering consistent performance over the vehicle lifecycle. This approach reduces system complexity while maintaining high refinement standards expected in a flagship SUV platform.

Clean Air Business Secures BSVI Aftertreatment Program

In addition to the suspension win, Tenneco Clean Air India Limited has secured a high-value modular inline BSVI aftertreatment program with a reputed global commercial vehicle OEM. The BSVI aftertreatment program carries an estimated annual revenue potential of approximately INR 1,150 million.
The modular solution allows the customer to retain its captive engine architecture while optimising total system cost. By integrating emission control technologies into a streamlined configuration, the BSVI aftertreatment program supports compliance with Bharat Stage VI norms while maintaining operational efficiency.

Cost Optimisation and Emissions Compliance

The BSVI aftertreatment program is designed to balance regulatory compliance with manufacturing flexibility. Its modular inline layout simplifies integration within existing engine platforms, helping commercial vehicle manufacturers manage packaging constraints and cost targets effectively.

Kharkhoda Haryana Plant to Strengthen Clean Air Expansion

To support anticipated growth from the BSVI aftertreatment program and other Clean Air initiatives, Tenneco Clean Air India Limited plans to establish a new greenfield Kharkhoda Haryana plant. The facility will primarily cater to Light Vehicle and Tractor customers in North India.
Production at the Kharkhoda Haryana plant is targeted to commence in Q3 FY2027, ending December, with an estimated capital expenditure of about INR 710 million. The expansion aligns manufacturing capacity with rising demand across passenger and commercial vehicle segments, reinforcing the company?s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
