  • More than 1,700 employees, including Brampton transfers, strengthen Stellantis Canada manufacturing footprint.
On February 17, the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant will officially activate a third shift, marking a major expansion in production capacity and workforce scale. The move brings more than 1,700 employees into midnight operations, including newly trained team members and nearly 250 workers transferring from the idled Brampton Assembly Plant. With this transition, the facility?s total employment approaches 6,000, reinforcing its position as one of the most significant automotive manufacturing hubs in Canada.

Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant Expands to Three-Shift Operations

The introduction of third shift production means the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant will now operate across midnights, days, and afternoons in all primary manufacturing zones. This includes Body-in-White (BIW), Paint, General Assembly, and Material Handling. By running full three-shift operations, Stellantis Canada manufacturing aims to stabilize output levels while responding to sustained demand across its vehicle portfolio.

Workforce Integration and Plant Operations

The third shift combines newly trained employees with experienced workers transferring from the Brampton Assembly Plant. This structured workforce integration ensures production continuity and operational efficiency across departments. Key manufacturing areas operating under the expanded schedule include:
  • Body-in-White (BIW)
  • Paint shop
  • General Assembly
  • Material Handling

This coordinated approach strengthens Windsor Assembly Plant jobs while maintaining consistent throughput across all production lines.

Chrysler Minivan and Dodge Charger Lineup Gain Production Support

The additional shift at the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant directly supports increased output of the Chrysler minivan lineup and the Dodge Charger lineup. At current production rates, a new Chrysler minivan or Dodge Charger rolls off the assembly line approximately every minute, reflecting high operational efficiency and steady market demand.

Chrysler Minivan Lineup

The Chrysler minivan lineup manufactured at Windsor includes:
  • Chrysler Pacifica
  • Chrysler Grand Caravan (Canadian market)
  • Chrysler Voyager (U.S. market)

These models continue to anchor Stellantis? presence in the family vehicle segment across North America.

Dodge Charger Lineup

The Dodge Charger lineup supported by the new shift includes both internal combustion engine and electric variants:
  • ICE-powered Dodge Charger Scat Pack (two- and four-door) producing 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque
  • ICE-powered Dodge Charger R/T (two- and four-door) with 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque
  • Battery electric Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack (two- and four-door), producing 670 hp

By scaling operations, the Stellantis Windsor Assembly Plant strengthens its ability to produce high-performance ICE models alongside next-generation EV variants, positioning the facility at the center of Stellantis? evolving product strategy.
