Quick Takeaways
  • Xiaomi EV surpasses 600,000 vehicle deliveries within 22 months of market entry.
  • Rapid ramp-up of SU7 and YU7 positions the company for a 550,000-unit target in 2026.
Xiaomi EV has crossed a major production and sales milestone, delivering its 600,000th vehicle just 22 months after its first customer handover on April 3, 2024. The achievement highlights the rapid scale-up of Xiaomi EV in a highly competitive electric vehicle market and signals its growing influence among new-generation EV manufacturers. The company confirmed the milestone on Weibo, underlining the speed at which it has moved from debut model launch to mass-market presence.
Founded as an automotive venture on March 30, 2021, Xiaomi entered vehicle manufacturing later than many EV startups. However, its aggressive product rollout strategy and strong brand leverage enabled it to accelerate quickly after launching its first production model in 2024.

Xiaomi EV Product Expansion Drives Delivery Growth

Xiaomi formally introduced the Xiaomi SU7 on March 28, 2024, positioning the electric sedan directly against the Tesla Model 3 competitor segment. The SU7 marked the brand’s transition from concept ambition to commercial execution. Less than a year later, on February 27, 2025, Xiaomi expanded the lineup with the SU7 Ultra, a higher-performance variant designed to strengthen its presence in the premium electric sedan category.

From SU7 to YU7: Broadening the Portfolio

On June 26, 2025, the company entered the electric SUV space with the Xiaomi YU7, widely seen as a Tesla Model Y competitor. The addition of the electric SUV significantly boosted overall EV deliveries as consumer demand shifted toward utility-focused models. While the SU7 initially led volumes, the YU7 quickly gained momentum once EV production capacity expanded, becoming the brand’s top-selling model during its ramp-up phase.

Delivery Performance and Production Ramp-Up

Xiaomi EV delivered 139,471 vehicles in 2024, its first year of commercial operations. In 2025, deliveries surged to 411,837 units, reflecting strong scaling of manufacturing and supply chain execution. The breakdown of 2025 performance illustrates the contribution of both key models:
  • Xiaomi SU7 deliveries in 2025: 258,164 units
  • Xiaomi YU7 deliveries in 2025: 153,673 units

This rapid acceleration demonstrates how Xiaomi EV optimized EV production capacity within a short time frame, transitioning from single-model reliance to a diversified portfolio approach.

2026 Target and SU7 Update Strategy

Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun stated during a January 3 live broadcast that Xiaomi EV aims to deliver 550,000 vehicles in 2026. To support sustained growth, the company has begun refreshing its product lineup. Production of the first-generation SU7 has ceased, and pre-orders for the updated SU7 opened on January 7, with an official launch scheduled for April.
The continuous product evolution, combined with expanding manufacturing capability, positions Xiaomi EV to maintain delivery momentum while competing more aggressively in both electric sedan and electric SUV segments. Crossing 600,000 cumulative EV deliveries in under two years underscores the company’s rapid execution and strengthens its standing in the global electric vehicle landscape.
