Immersive Model Y showcase at VR Surat

Located on Dumas Road, the pop-up operates daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and is designed to offer a guided, hands-on understanding of the Model Y. Visitors can participate in structured walkarounds and interactive demonstrations that highlight design philosophy, safety technologies, and performance credentials.

Charging ecosystem and interactive demonstrations

A key focus of the experience is Tesla’s charging ecosystem, allowing visitors to understand home, destination, and fast-charging use cases. The setup helps potential buyers visualize real-world ownership while reinforcing confidence around EV usability and long-distance travel in India.

Bookings, exchange incentives, and pricing details

Customers visiting the Surat pop-up can schedule test drives and complete vehicle bookings directly at the venue. The launch aligns with Tesla’s “Switch and Save” program, offering an exchange incentive of ₹3,00,000 for customers moving from petrol or diesel vehicles to electric. Under this program, Model Y ownership begins with monthly installments starting at ₹49,000 and a down payment of ₹6,00,000.
The Model Y is offered in two variants in India:
  • Rear-Wheel Drive priced at ₹59,89,000 with a certified range of 500 km
  • Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive priced at ₹67,89,000 delivering up to 661 km of range

The Model Y was the world’s best-selling car in 2023 and 2024 and secured top safety ratings from Euro NCAP, IIHS, and ANCAP in 2025, reinforcing its global reputation for safety and efficiency.
Beyond the product showcase, the Surat installation features a collaboration with the Dumas Art Project, blending automotive innovation with contemporary art. The Model Y Kala Car forms part of this creative integration within the VR Surat environment, adding a cultural dimension to the brand experience.
Tesla currently operates 16 Supercharging stations and 14 Destination Charging stations across India and plans further expansion to support growing EV adoption. The company also runs permanent locations including Tesla Center Gurugram and experience centers in Mumbai’s BKC and Delhi’s Aerocity. Following the Surat launch, Tesla plans to roll out similar pop-up experiences in VR Chennai, VR Nagpur, VR Bengaluru, and VR Amritsar as it continues to broaden its presence across key Indian markets.
