On February 5, OMODA South Africa confirmed plans to introduce the OMODA C5 SHS hybrid in March 2026 as part of its strategy to broaden the C5 lineup in the local market. The upcoming model is positioned to strengthen the brand’s hybrid SUV presence while addressing growing demand for efficiency-focused mobility solutions.

The OMODA C5 SHS hybrid is driven by a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor. Together, the system delivers a combined output of 165 kW and peak torque of 310 Nm, providing a balance of performance and fuel efficiency for daily and long-distance driving.

Acceleration, Battery, and Driving Range

The hybrid SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. Energy storage is supported by a 1.83 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, enabling an estimated driving range exceeding 1,000 km on a single tank, enhancing suitability for extended travel conditions.
