On February 5, Infineon Technologies AG introduced a new family of isolated gate driver ICs under the EiceDRIVER 1ED301xMC12I series, strengthening its portfolio for high-performance power electronics. The new devices combine opto-emulator input compatibility with enhanced robustness, enabling designers to upgrade existing designs without major layout changes.

Isolated gate driver ICs designed for precision and robustness
The EiceDRIVER 1ED301xMC12I family is pin-compatible with widely used opto-emulators and optocouplers, while delivering higher common-mode transient immunity and tighter timing accuracy. Compared with conventional solutions, the devices provide more stable switching behavior and improved noise immunity in fast-switching environments.Key electrical and packaging characteristics
All variants in the family deliver up to 6.5 A of output current and feature a robust output stage tailored for demanding power semiconductors. The gate drivers are housed in a CTI 600-rated 6-pin DSO package, offering more than 8 mm creepage and clearance to support reinforced isolation requirements.Target applications and device variants
The isolated gate driver ICs are aimed at applications requiring fast, reliable, and silicon carbide–capable gate driving, including motor drives, solar inverters, electric-vehicle chargers, and energy-storage systems. The product family includes three variants to support different power devices:- 1ED3010 for Si MOSFETs
- 1ED3011 for IGBTs
- 1ED3012 for SiC MOSFETs
