Quick Takeaways
  • AUMOVIO SE expands its footprint in China by supplying safety technologies to Leapmotor platforms.
  • The collaboration highlights faster development cycles enabled through localized production and engineering.
AUMOVIO SE, formerly known as the Automotive division of Continental, has been selected to provide a comprehensive portfolio of safety technologies for Leapmotor’s B and C vehicle platforms in China. The decision reinforces AUMOVIO SE’s growing role in the Chinese automotive market, particularly in supporting next-generation electric and intelligent vehicle architectures.

AUMOVIO SE safety systems selected for Leapmotor platforms

The scope of supply covers multiple critical safety components designed to enhance vehicle performance and occupant protection. These systems are engineered to meet the requirements of high-volume production while aligning with regional regulatory and market expectations. Key technologies supplied by AUMOVIO SE include:
  • Long-range radar systems for advanced sensing
  • Airbag control units (ACU)
  • Integrated brake systems
  • Electric parking brakes
  • Crash satellite sensors

Application across B and C vehicle platforms

High-volume C platform SUV integration

High-volume SUV models under Leapmotor’s C platform, including the C10, C11, and C16, will be equipped with AUMOVIO SE’s latest-generation MK C2 one-box brake system. This solution integrates braking functions into a compact architecture, supporting efficiency, safety, and scalability across multiple models.

Selective deployment on B platform models

Selected models built on Leapmotor’s B platform will adopt AUMOVIO SE’s electric parking brake. The system is designed to support modern vehicle packaging requirements while contributing to overall braking safety and user convenience.

Accelerated development through local-for-local strategy

The overall development timeline for the project was reduced by roughly one-third compared with conventional automotive development cycles. This acceleration was enabled by AUMOVIO SE’s local-for-local strategy, which combines rapid local innovation with proven, high-quality technologies adapted to specific market needs in China.

Localized manufacturing footprint in China

Production of the brake systems is carried out in Shanghai, ensuring proximity to vehicle assembly operations and supply chain efficiencies. Meanwhile, the airbag control units and crash satellite sensors are manufactured in Changchun, further strengthening AUMOVIO SE’s localized manufacturing and delivery capabilities within China.
