On February 3, Opel announced updates to the new Astra Electric and Astra Sports Tourer Electric, both designed, developed, and built in Rüsselsheim. The refreshed models introduce enhanced technology, improved comfort features, and a sharper exterior design, while pricing across the range remains unchanged.
Opel Astra Electric battery and range upgrade
The Opel Astra Electric now comes equipped with a 58-kWh battery paired with a 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor. This upgrade extends the driving range to as much as 454 km under the WLTP cycle, representing an increase of around 35 km on a single charge compared with the earlier version.Introduction of Vehicle-to-Load capability
For the first time, the Opel Astra Electric supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. This allows the vehicle’s battery to supply power to external electrical devices, adding practical everyday usability and making the electric hatchback more versatile for work and leisure applications.Broader electrified powertrain choices
Alongside the fully electric variants, the Astra range continues to offer multiple electrified alternatives. Buyers can opt for a 107 kW (145 hp) hybrid version starting at EUR 32,990, while a more powerful 144 kW (196 hp) plug-in hybrid is available from EUR 38,460, providing flexibility between efficiency and performance.Conventional option completes the lineup
The Astra portfolio is rounded out by a 96 kW (130 hp) 1.5-litre diesel variant. Together with the electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models, the range delivers a broad selection of powertrains, ensuring the Astra continues to meet varied customer requirements without compromising on technology or design.
